Are you tired of trying to obey God? Do you get frustrated when you feel you are in a cycle of trying and failing? The Word of God says;
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:14
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
The above scriptures were written in Greek. This is what salvation and grace mean according to God’s Word:
Salvation: (Greek-Sozo) -save, deliver, protect, heal, preserve, make whole.
Grace: (Greek- Charis-G5485,G5463) – Condition of one governed by the power of God’s grace, joy, favor. Divine (Holy Spirit) influence, bounty
Grace is God’s supernatural power to do what He has called you to do! In the Old Testament, you obeyed God by your own strength. In the New Testament, you obey God by the power of the Holy Spirit!
When we were living in the flesh (mere physical lives), the sinful passions that were awakened and aroused up by [what] the Law [makes sin] were constantly operating in our natural powers (in our bodily organs, in the sensitive appetites and wills of the flesh), so that we bore fruit for death.But now we are discharged from the Law and have terminated all intercourse with it, having died to what once restrained and held us captive. So now we serve not under obedience to the old code of written regulations, but under obedience to the promptings of the Spirit in newness of life. Romans 7:5-6 AMP
Apostle Paul says “So now we serve not under obedience to the old code of written regulations, but under obedience to the promptings of the Spirit in newness of life.”
According to New Testament scripture, you are to be led by the Holy Spirit using the supernatural power of God’s grace. If you decide to obey God by using your own strength, it will produce the fruit of rebellion and death. The Holy Spirit IS God and He will NEVER lead or prompt you to disobey God’s Word. Remember, according to John 1:1, The WORD IS GOD!
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
If you ASK for God’s grace in a situation, you will be given the ability to do what God has called you to do. It will bear the fruit of JOY not DEATH (depression, strife, anger, etc) Here is a prayer to ASK for God’s Grace to help you do what He has called you to do:
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, I come boldly before your throne of Grace to obtain mercy and grace to help me obey you. I ask for your abundant grace to (fill in the blank with what you need grace for). In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen!
