Knowing Your Authority in Prayer

Have you ever wondered if you have authority in prayer? If God is hearing your prayer? According to the scriptures, if you know Jesus Christ personally, then you are seating with God, in Christ Jesus in “the heavenly places.”
But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,  even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.Ephesians 2:1-10
The above scripture says you are saved by faith, not as a result of works. Faith in Jesus Christ. If you personally have a relationship with God, through His Son Jesus Christ, then you are seated in the heavenly places. You have a RIGHT to pray and to RECEIVE an answer to that prayer.
We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but he is ready to hear those who worship him and do his will. John 9:31
In John 9:31, scripture tells us God doesn’t listen to sinners, but he wants to hear those who worship Him AND do his will. So if you are a worshipper of God, and are doing His will, then God WANTS to hear from you! There are several ways listed in the Bible about how to pray, but the scripture I use most often is the one below:
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.Philippians 4:6-8
I pray exactly the way Philippians tells you to pray. I give God thanks first for His blessings in my life. Then I ask him for what I want/need. After that, I specifically ask for the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, to guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. With out fail, every time, I feel a peace come over me directly afterwards. A knowing that God has heard, and is answering my prayer!
