During prayer one day, I was asking the Lord for an answer to a particular problem. He whispered this to my spirit;
“I have several names, it is part of My character. When you need a solution, ask Me to release one of My names over the situation. If you do not know which name, ask Me to show you. Then pray, asking Me to release that part of myself over the problem.”
I have done this for years and an answer always comes! I listed some of the names of God and their definition:
1. Jehovah Jireh: The Lord Will Provide, Perceive, Experience.
And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen. Gen 22:14
God provided Abraham a sacrificial lamb so he did not have to sacrifice his son Isaac. Do you need provision? Lift the situation up to the Lord, and ask Him to release Jehovah Jireh over it.
2. Jehovah Nissi: The Lord is My Banner.
And Moses built an altar and named it ‘The LORD is my Banner. Exodus 17:15
When Israel faced the Amalekites in battle, they were a tribe of herdsmen escaping slavery in Egypt and traveling to the promised land. Moses and his people called upon Jehovah Nissi and He gave them the victory against the Amalekites. Do you need a battle conquered? Are you going through a trial right now and need God to preside over the situation? Call upon Jehovah Nissi and ask Him to fight for you!
3. Jehovah Rophe: The Lord Who Heals.
I am the Lord who heals you. Exodus 15:26
The Israelites were in need of water after wandering in the desert. God showed them a river, but the waters were too bitter to drink. God revealed to them they had bitterness in their hearts and they needed emotional, as well as physical healing.God divinely cleansed the waters by instructing Moses to throw a piece of wood into the water, thereby making it drinkable. When the Israelites drank it, bitterness left and they had their physical stamina back. Do you need a healing? It can be physical or emotional. If you call upon the Lord who heals you, He will release that part of himself over you!
4. Jehovah Shalom: The God of Peace, Prosperity, Wholeness.
So Gideon built an altar to the LORD there and called it The LORD Is Peace. To this day it stands in Ophrah of the Abiezrites. Judges 6:24
Gideon was so scared of the Midianites, he was hiding in a wine press while threshing wheat! An angel appeared to Gideon and told him to no longer be afraid. God gave Gideon supernatural peace in that situation! One of the most often names I ask the Lord to release over me is Jehovah Shalom! Which means God of Peace. Why? Because I often need supernatural peace to help get me through the day!
5. El Shaddai: Almighty God, God of Heaven, all sufficient!
And when Abraham was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am El Shaddai; walk before me, and be thou perfect. Gen 17:1
I am El Shaddai: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins. Gen 35:11
El Shaddai is listed 48 times in the Bible! Do you need help getting free from something? A secret addiction? Are you harboring resentment towards your spouse? Are you angry all the time? Or are you hiding a habit you are too ashamed for anyone to know about? El Shaddai is a God of Freedom. He is everything you need, and He will sufficiently set you free IF you call upon Him!
