One afternoon my husband and I went to visit one of our friends whose husband was in the hospital. While we were praying with her in the hospital lobby, the Holy Spirit put strongly on my heart that we should go into her husband’s hospital room and pray for him. She argued with me that it was unnecessary, that prayer works right here. My husband argued with me that my friend was right, prayer worked right here in the lobby and it was a bad idea for us to pray for her husband personally because he was in ICU, and he was of a different denomination that didn’t believe in healing. So I let the matter go. But I knew if I didn’t pray for him, he would be sick longer, which he was, and eventually died. The next morning, during my prayer time, the Holy Spirit brought up the conversation, and spoke this to my spirit:
“Sometimes wounds talk to you. The problems you and your husband have stem from wounds speaking to you. People cannot truly hurt you. Even when Stephen was stoned, I protected him, and he forgave by My power. If you learn to live by My power, people cannot hurt you. By grace you are saved, and by grace you must live. Grace is believing I will do it. I want Lucas to spend time in My presence this weekend getting healed of when his dad warned him not to talk about God publicly (my husband was raised atheist, but his parents would lie about it and tell their relatives they were Christian). It still makes him uncomfortable. Last night when I told you to lay hands on your friend’s husband in the hospital, a wound was speaking through your friend because her husband has rejected Me before. A wound was also speaking through your husband, so My glory did not manifest last night like it should have. A wound will ALWAYS go against My will. A wound will always produce fear and folly. A wound is easily recognizable because it stems out of a past hurt. Many times, you and your husband have missed My will because of wounds. I need to move both of your forward, but you need to get healed of wounds before I can do so. Seek Me this evening for healing. I must move you forward but wounds have prevented you from seeing. You cannot live in the past and expect to receive from Me. I have a whole plan for your lives, but it is being hindered. Sometimes people become successful out of wounds and it manifests differently than if they are successful from My presence.”
Then the Holy Spirit gave me eight steps to healing a soul wound. I suggest you write down every major situation where you know you need healing (divorce, betrayal, abuse, etc.) Let’s say divorce is on that list. Then you go before God and lift up the divorce and pray through all eight steps. Then take the next item on the list and do the same thing. After you have gone through your list, then go through the eight steps again, asking the Holy Spirit to show you any situations you may have missed. We may have wounds from a long time ago, that we have forgotten about but it is still there! This could take a few prayer sessions, so don’t rush!

Eight Steps to getting a Soul Wound Healed
1. Ask Your Heavenly Father (in the Name of Jesus Christ) to show you where you’ve submitted to a false belief system. Sometimes in situations we thought something was true that wasn’t, or we were the one wrong! Wait for the Holy Spirit to reveal it to you, then ask for forgiveness if you made a mistake! Ask for the blood of God’s Son Jesus Christ to wash away the sin, IF the Holy Spirit reveals to you any wrong doing!
2. Ask where you judged incorrectly in the situation. Sometimes in situations we misinterpret intent. Wait for the Holy Spirit to reveal it to you. If you did not judge incorrectly, then move on to the next step. If you did, ask God to forgive you!
3. Ask the Holy Spirit to heal the root cause of the wound. Ask the Holy Spirit to completely heal the wound.
4. Ask God to show you a picture of what He has for you. Wait on the Holy Spirit to bring a picture to mind. It is very important you wait for a picture of what God has for you! When you see this picture of your future (and it will always be wonderful!) thank Him!
5. Ask the Lord to replace what picture you had in the wound with the new picture He has given you!
6. Ask the Lord to wipe away the tears and tear stains related to the painful situation!
7. Ask the Lord to turn the situation around in your favor.
8. Ask the Lord to remove all generational and situational curses associated with the event and on you. Do not miss this step! When we get in bad situations, it can open the door for the enemy to strike!
